Default Eliminated ACE Pump

So I had been having problems with the power steering pump changed that then had problems with the ACE pump. Looked for the ACE pump and I found it nowhere. So I called the dealer and they told me I could eliminate it which I did and replaced the serpentine belt with a shorter one. Now the only problem is that the power steering is still very hard. I checked the power steering reservoir an the fluid doesn't gurgle. What am I missing?

And you actually believed the dealer, that is scarey.
What was your ACE doing, when did you last service that $1700 option?
I would suggest you regroup and get your truck back together. If you want help, PM me your tele number and I'll walk you thru what to do.

Well since they are the dealers I did believe them. The shaft that holds the pulley in place got bent I don't know how, maybe because of the power steering pump going bad.

Mike, not to hijack, but my PS pump is making noise, and my ace pump under the passenger door pillar "kicks on" every 12 seconds. This thread makes them sound related? I would love to get it working right, cause that noise is driving me nuts, and I want to make sure it is working. I have tried to search, but it keep dropping the term ACE as too short. Can you give me a hand?

I'm thinking you are talking about SLS not ACE and no none of them are related. Another hint use google to search this site, type in:

I was thinking about buying the serp. belt for a non ACE motor also because my pump is surging every ten seconds on the dot. I put a screw driver to it to make sure that was the sound and you bet it was. So instead of buying a new/used one I thought I would just bypass it and didn't think it would hurt anything if it was not running it shouldn't make a difference it would be just like it it didn't have it... Right? Anyone know anything different?
