Ok, so I did the irontite treatment.... Did not look like I got the same results as pinkytoe. But the truck is running and I didn't blow any hoses in the drive around the block. Holding 194F at idle, dropping down some when I drive, it's about 65F here now. Only engine code is : p1590. I got the four amigos, tc, abs, hill descent, and SRS. Think I know how to fix them but still need to get a plate on the truck to make sure it's all good out on the road.

It's been about a day scince I ran the truck, went to top off the expansion tank and there was still pressure in it. Is this normal, good sign or bad?
Truck started fine small white puff from the tail pipe, not sure if it's from the cylinders or condensation. I brought it up to temp with the cap off the tank. At temp, about 196f, there are bubbles coming out the return tube from the heater plate on the intake, is that normal? They appeared to go away when I put the cap on and it build pressure. Just guessing it was boiling without the pressure to raise the boiling point but not sure.
Going to let it sit overnight. Tomorrow I'll pull the #5 plug and take a look with the borescope and see if there is any coolant in there. We will see!

Topped off the coolant to the cold mark and drove around some back roads for about 5-6 miles. The temp stayed around 190ish and no hoses blew up yet! When I shut the truck down the top hose felt firm but I normally don't go around grabbing hoses to check how firm they are.... Not sure if there is a proper test for that one!
I've bled the system for a total of two hours and still have a waterfall in the dash. Any suggestions?

The only way I bled the system is to raise the coolant tank.
Take off the cap.
Start it up.
If coolant flies out - STOP. Bad head gasket.
If coolant stays in then run it at 1,500 RPM for about 8 minutes.
That will chase out all the bubbles.
Then put the cap back on.
Clip the coolant tank back in.
The next morning top up the level in the coolant tank.
And drive happy.
I have never used the bleeder screw. Never want to.
Did this bleed method three times on my ex 2001 Discovery.
Always worked like a champ.
