Ext temp questions
Can anyone tell me how the ext temp system works?
This evening I drove my 00 D2. The temp down in the valley was -33F, of course the bottom limit of the system is -22 and it displayed that. Coming back up the hill I wanted to know the temp at a certain place so I stopped for about 4 minutes, the temp display never changed. I continued up the hill and when I got home I let the truck sit for a couple of minutes, it still didn't change. I shut the truck off and turned the key back on, still -22. I went in the house and checked the temp, -7. The place that I stopped was not much lower than where I live, I'm pretty sure the temp there was higher than -22. I've seen before where the temp only updated about 3 minutes apart, now I'm thinking maybe when it pegs out it errors out and won't recover until the truck has been turned off for a while.
-22 deg F low limit.
