Default Extinct thermostat install -LR gods are getting even

1st off this is not reflection of the kit it is great and does it job well. This is just my bad luck.

Everything came apart without issue,
  1. Step one replace the hose from the rad to water pump with single piece hose I purchased fits on the rad fine no way it will fit over the plastic Y inside diameter is way too small. Use the pass through barb supplied with kit no biggy.
  2. Get everything hooked up start Torque start the Disco all is good get up to 188 seems to hold for sec then climbs, ok this is expected there is air in the system. Blip the throttle the climb is still slow, hit 2000 rpm then it start to climb fast. Killed the engine at a 235ish and had happy boiling coolant. Scary but still in normal abet very high range.
  3. Once every thing cools down pull the thermostat and test, that puppy does not open
  4. Extinct is kindly sending a new unit but I got one locally, temp hit 215 dropped like a rock under 176 great I think then I notice the coolant leak. 2 hoses and housing. Replace the hose clamps get the hose sorted but the housing leaks.
  5. Pull the housing almost no coolant loss as I still have air in the system, pull it apart the thermostat moved when I tightened things up. Reset everything and strip a the thread on one side, I have bolts and nuts easy fix.
  6. Start the Disco back up temps climb to 201 then drop like a rock and stabilize at 183 let her idle hit the air blip the throttle to 2000 rock solid at 183 and no leaks
  7. Go to the back to Disco and water out of the tail momentary freak out (remember 235 ish), but it is just water and only for a minute or so, check the oil and it is good.
  8. Go for a 20 minute drive crank the RPM up to 2500 never broke 194 and dropped back quick, check my overflow bottle nice and dry
Now just a few days of driving to clear the air out of the system.

Can't remember the P/N of the Gates lower hose I used off hand but it fit the Carrs4x4 Aluminum Y perfectly. Will look it up when I can.
