Default Which Fan Clutch?

Hey folks -- I a going to end up doing it right...
I am reaching out to vendors to locate a new Airtex Water Pump with the brass impeller (they stopped making them).
I have read a lot of info on here that the Duralast 180 Thermostat right from AutoZone works just fine.
As for the fan clutch... the price differences I see online are huge.. AB has it for $200 while AutoZone has it for $55.

Is it really justifiable to spend $150 more on the one from AB?

For my V8 I've got the Hayden premium fan clutch #2781 for $28 at RockAuto. Works great.

Hayden 2991 & Dorman 620-112 fan blade work good, but I’ve also used the fan clutch from auto zone. Works fine!

I don’t mind the 99-02 OEM fan blade, but 25.00 for a new Dorman 620-112 vs 60-75.00 for the LR blade = it’s just a fan blade & I’ll spend the extra $$ on other stuff.

Either way it’s a much better setup vs the 03-04 $$$ one piece unit.

My model is a 2001. Do I need a new fan? I thought I can just change the "clutch". I am unsure which one to get and am unsure if the price differences really represent quality. That's what I am trying to figure out here. Thanks.

... for example: https://www.ebay.com/i/162519496135?ul_noapp=true
Is this ok to use? Is the autozone one ok to use? Or is the a real difference with the one on Atlantic British?

Yep you can re-use 99-02 fan blades. 03-04 are the one piece units. Auto Zone Fan Clutch is made in the USA & has worked fine for me (bought 3-4 of them so far).

When changing out the fan clutch on an 01 disco II, do you need to put loctite on the bolts that attach the clutch to the fan?

That dorman fan blade is made of plastic .. do you know of any metal fans that work with the 2991 ? I don't have an uppershroud. I cut it out.
