Hey ,

Looks real good, what is the total cost of the roff rack as completed. I like the idea of tying the work light to the back up lights. Does that roof rack have a rear ladder built in?

Also like to know more about the limb risers. I have a 97 white Disco I that I am "refreshing" most of the systems on it. Just finished brakes all around, new 2 inch plus shocks and springs, new Bridgestone tires, new exhaust manifold gaskets and main muffler.

Took off the factory brush gaurd cause it was rotting away. Yanked the carpets out cause they were wet.

Really like the way yours is looking.

Total cost of everything on the roof of this truck? WAY too much - LOL.

SD rack = $1,000+
Flooring = $110
175lb zip ties = $30
4 - Hella 700FF = $200
1 Hella Dual work lamp = $50
Fuseable Hella Relays = $60
4 - H3 100w Hella bulbs = $60
Limb Risers = $50 or less

Total on roof = $1,560 (give or take) not including shipping or my time.

I lucked out and the Safety Devices rack was on this truck when I bought. I hate to be a downer but your chances of finding a SD rack used are very slim. But there are a few companies that make knock-off SD racks for $1000 or less.

The ladder I have is a LR factory add-on that can be purchased from LR or AB @ http://www.roverparts.com/Parts/STC8125OE.cfm. It does not directly connect to the roof rack, instead in bolts to the door and is very effective.

I did a write-up on the limb risers for everyone to benefit from here: https://landroverforums.com/forum/sh...ad.php?t=28719.

I also did a write-up on my lights setup here:https://landroverforums.com/forum/sh...ad.php?t=28701.

Keep in mind my truck is a "work in progress" and has only just begun. I plan on probably sinking in another $3-5k before I am done + hundreds of hours of work and probably thousands of posts on this site - LOL.

You can PM with any questions you have on my setup or hint on the how-to's. Have a great day and don't forget to post pictures of your truck in the Gallery as you modify it, we all love to see them.

I have a different question: does the top bracket of that ladder wrap *over* the top of the door? Or does it just screw in at both ends?

Yes the top wraps over the door and the bottom bolts on. I think there is several places to pick one up, price shop. But get Genuine LR ladder only...

The SD racks turn up pretty often and often at good prices. I paid about $500 for mine about 5 years ago or so.
Spike just found a DII for even less (there's a thread here somewhere about it).

I got the Hella 700's from streetsideauto.com for $146.22. And I got the dual work lamp off of eBay for about $50, can't find the invoice.

Wow that's pretty good. I have always been under the impression that they are very hard to come by. Isn't there someone on here who even started a website asking to buy SD racks when you are done with them?
