Fault codes won't pass smog
Hi Guys
I just put my 01 disco in for a smog and it fails to get through. Tech told me IM monitors are red for CAT, AIR, and EVA. Can anyone give me direction on what to check? No one around here wants to touch a Land Rover. They look at it as though its from Mars. I do all my own maintenance and am pretty confident around it. This though I'm not sure about. I don't want to just throw parts at it.
Thanks John.

I will tell you exactly what to do. Here is what you do ....
First do a seafoam treatment .. you can see how on this website... clear all that stuff out ..
Buy new front O2 sensors ... with 4 O2 sensor extensions. You can get O2 sensor extensions off Amazon.. you need these ... these trick your truck to make it think it's running perfect .. no O2 codes .. doesn't matter if your cats are shot .. you can get the cats out later and put in fakes if you want .. . engine will run better and sound better. No cats = more HP. With the new fake cats they have no way to know they are fake without a DOT roadside test . and if your not a highway semi trucker .. you have a better chance of seeing a flying pig .. than getting DOT called out . never gonna happen.
Then you gotta get a new Bosch Evap purge valve . Bosch only ... do NOT get the cheaper one ..... it's about $50 or you can get it used .. buy some cleaner spray .. take off the idle control valve spray it out real good when you do the Evap job .. turn the car off .. unclip the hoses ... clean your idle control valve .. put in the new evap purge valve .. ,, the evap code is gone .. clear the codes ..
if they come back or you get new codes or just want to skip all the above .. drive to the dealer or indy ...get the dealer or the indy to purge those codes .. tell them not to drive it .. use AAA to flat bed tow it tow it to the damn smog station .. don't turn it on until you get there..
then ... wait .. when there are no customers .. walk up to the smog booth .. tell them you are here for the test ..
it SHOULD take a little while before those codes come back .. at least a few minutes .. the trick is to get them to scan it when the codes are out ,. so you can get your dumb smog certificate ..
Drive off the smog lot .. the codes come back on .. who cares? You got your cert and 2 more years..
If nothing works ... the codes keep coming back .. and you have tried everything and cant get that stupid smog cert .. then .. as an absolute last resort ... drive to the worst crime ridden area you can find in the state .. you want it to look like something out of a Tijuana cartel zone.. the worse the better .. something that looks like the guys have not taken a shower in months and are getting paid under the table .. go late as possible (so the owner has taken off ) and ..........well ... you know what to do next .. (wink wink)

@slvrdisco01 ... first off you need to clear the 3 Amigos fault before you start throwing money at the possible problem.
Have you done the Option B mod for the ABS module? Also, do you have SAI?

Looks to me like you are failing on readiness of the monitors. You can only have one thats not ready. The 3 amigos should have no effect on passing or not. Only the SES light....if its on you will not pass. Have you cleared any codes lately or disconnected the battery? If so you have to drive it long enough under different loads to get the monitors ready. Most scan gauges can read monitor readiness.
