I have the Guard Dogs "E" rating. It might be overkill, but at the time they were in stock and the "D"'s weren't. By the time I need new tires I'll have a little more weight on the truck so I'll probably stick with the load rating I have now.

 

I have Yokohama Geolander A/T-S in LT 245/75/16E and they are great. The thread looks pretty much like the Sentinel Tread Wright tire tread design that Disco-Mike mentioned earlier, and they are reasonably priced. Road noise is non-existent in my D2.
