Looks like that's a winter tire - were you running it in the summer as well? Unfortunately, they don't make it in size that'll fit the 18" Disco wheels.

I then went with the Toyo Open Country A/T, a great tire, great in the snow, good off road and a nice highway ride.
I've been torn between the Nittos and the Toyos (the General Grabber AT2 is playing a factor in there too). From what I've read, the Nitto tire uses the same tread compound as the Toyo, just a different tread pattern. How was the noise comfort of your Toyos?

I bought those Dunlops early fall, ran all winter and into the spring slop, they were GREEAAT!

The Toyo's were a very quiet tire. And if I remember right they are rated for severe snow.
Only got about 45,000 miles out of them, same as the Bridgestones that came on the Montero.

No, we are next to Lake Erie, we get tons of Lake effect snow...about 100 inches a year. The Rover actually got stuck in 2 ft of snow with the goodyear allseasons on it...that's why I'm looking for a step up in traction.

That sounds like us, we are 30 miles from Lake Michigan, all the lake effect dumps on us, comes from the west, picks up the moisture from the warm lake water and then we get buried.

And now they made the announcment on the radio that there will be no overtime for snowplow drivers this year, the state just doent have the money.

I scanned through the posts and didn't see anything related to what I'm going to say...Dump the 18" rims. My 01 came with 18's and when I went to replace the tires, I found the 18" tires are way more expensive than the 16"'s. I found 5 16" LR rims off a Rover and got them for $200. I easily made up for it in the savings on the 16" tires. I ended up getting the General's and they rock. I would def buy them again. And if you can, you can sell the 18's and make up even more.

The grabbers are WAY overpriced on there, I ordered them for $100 bucks each.
Where from?
I checked the paper in my glove box, and they were from tirerack.com BUT they were on sale at the time AND my tire place gave me their discount code.... so the price you have is right I beleive. Sorry about that I forgot all about the discounts, no wonder I was so happy about the price when I got them! But even with your listed price, they are still cheaper than the BFG's.
