Well started today on the frame finally, been a long time since welded and upside down lol.
one patch in.

Are you cutting out the bad section, or just welding over? If you are cutting it out, send us a pic of the top of the inside of the rail after you have the bad section out.

Cutting out the bad. The first one it was just the second outer layer rotted out. Removed it all banged the **** out of it to remove anything inside then sprayed rustolum restore and cover in that section

yep a grinders a welders best Friend, and coat of paint hides everything else
it should look more like this

@frostythor you did the quarter chaise right?
my area travels right up through where that would mount. But once I tear into it I will know more. Then patch it for now and maybe go that route once I have more funds. If not I might go the half chaise. Especially since this one is much better than our last one in so many ways.

Yes that would be the other option there just shy of 1100 here in the states. Cool thing is there 3 hours away on a drive lol

Looking at your photos the top of the inside is fine, I know to do a repair would take a lot of welding, cutting but it is possible

this is how the chassis is made up and why they are so strong



now remanufactured items do not have the angle iron fitted inside they increase the wall thickness to 3mm to provide more strength
