Don't jump off a ledge just yet. You should be able to find out if the engine was already swapped out under warranty. Check with your local Land Rover dealership or call Rover North America and see if they can check the service history for you. If you can't confirm it was replaced, I'd do my best to return it to whoever you bought it from.

It has 108K miles on it. Would it have gone bad by now? Would I be able just to replace the oil pump?

It should have failed by 108. Usually they fail at about 60k from what I've been hearing. If I were you I'd just start putting away for a new pump. Get your oil psi tested regularly, if the light ever comes on pull over and kill the engine, tow it home and replace the pump.

Don't worry about a fuel pump for now, you are probably safe by mileage. If your oil light starts coming on then you will need to look at a pump and front cover, not cheap though.

Front engine cover and oil pump $1500.
You must also replace the front engine cover.
But before you go all Ground Hog Day and take a bath with a toaster do a advanced search on the forum and read up and soak up as much info as you can.
