Default Front bumper fabrication question

With the price of a good front bumper being somewhere from 800-1500 dollars I was wondering if any one had gotten a metal fabrication shop to make them one for cheaper? It's hard for me to spend half the price of my disco for a front bumper. If so does anyone have the dimensions or print out of how to fabricate one?

Thanks for the Pics I will see what they can dO along those lines. That's the exact bumper I would wanT if I could drop 1500 bucks on it. Gotta go cheap!! You notice your temps go up with the bumper? What I would like is one that is just a bumper replacement. I know terrafirma makes one and its about 600 so I want to take it to a fab shop and see if they can do it.

Good question....did ARB get rid of them on that version? I have two on mine, bottom of each side of the winch opening.

That model doesn't have recovery points, they don't really want you doing dynamic recovery off of it, just static. You could replicate mine, it's the 3432060. Same idea without the fog light openings but it has recovery points at the bottom.

Or, you might design and have your own made as I and many others have done over the years.
Parts, steel and powder coating on mine cost me $320 or so plus time and labor.
If you want some more detailed pictures, send me your e-mail and I'll send you top and bottom pictures.

I got a quote today for 300 plus powder coating another 125. The bumper I showed them was The one off of rte website. I like that one the best. Disco mike its hard to believe your bumper is a homemade one by a small shop. Looks like an ARB. Pretty sweet. I want to get the rte like bumper and put two lights to each side of the winch. Now how to explain all of this to my wife.

It won't be an RTE bumper at that price, theirs runs in the $1400 plus range new and not much less when used.

I thought my quote was pretty low but your bumper was quite a bit cheaper and much more involved. Maybe need to shop around a bit. My quote was without any brush guard just bumper with winch mount. My current bumper is cracked a bit on the right side so I want to replace and the guy was like how much is a new plastic bumper 300 dollars? I was like sure sounds about right( 800 on roversnorth). Then he quoted me 300 with the 125 powder coat. If you don't mind sending more pics I appreciate it. a-shivers@hotmail.com
