Is it possible to purchase the grille emblem and the rear hatch door emblem separately from each of it's respective assemblies or do I have to purchase the entire part to have a clean(er) emblem?

I think both front and rear come up.

 

I've used head light lens cleaner on them to good effect. Not a permanent solution but works fine if you keep up on it as needed.

 

These are easy to pick up at junkyards, especially the one for the rear door.

 

i did only received results for L320 RRS.

tried 3m plastic polish and didnt do much. these are discolored from heat and or years of grime. the plastic is pitted and discolored. looks like a yellow/brown tint over the entire emblem.

contacted a few through ebay and most look exactly like what i have so i wanted to purchase the new ones but it appears they are only available if i purchase the entire grill or rear door handle assy.

 

Just out of curiosity I tried searching the same thing. It gave me a result for defender front badges and the other result was for the rear door. 99-04 D2's are on that list, so you may be able to get at least the rear. I searched for them on eBay and I did get one result for the front from Latvia. That does seem weird that they aren't more available.

I was at a boneyard this morning and picked up a decent one for the rear I can send you. I tried to remove one from the grill of one of the trucks but because it's applied with adhesive I couldn't get it off without ruining it.

 

You don't say what year? May need to brush up on your searching skills and part sources.
