Getting about 11 mpg...normal?

Getting about 11 mpg...normal?
I've started paying closer attention to my mileage, and, while I knew I wasn't getting very good mpg, I was surprised that it was as low as 11.
I have a:
- 2002 Disco SD
- ARB Bull Bar
- General Grabber ST tires
- No lift (yet)
- No Roof Rack
I normally drive:
- With "Sport" mode off
- A mix of about 2/3 highway, 1/3 city streets
- Always with 91 octane in the tank; lately I've started using only Shell
I'm at 67,000 miles and had the complete 60,000 mile service done at about 63,000 by a reputable Land Rover shop. Is my mpg normal/average? I thought/hoped I'd be up closer to 14 or 15 mpg...
I did just try a fuel-injector cleaner from Shell to see if that would help, and thought I'd experiment with octane boosters as well.
Anything else that I can or should do to improve my mpg? I realize that the ARB doesn't help, and the lift I'm about to put on won't improve things either. I just want to make sure I'm doing everything else I can and that my low mpg isn't a sign of any other issues I should be keeping an eye on...

You are at the lower end of the range. I get just shy of 12mpg, but run sport mode all the time and do 2/3 inner city and 1/3 highway driving. I got about 13mpg city and 16mpg highway w/ sport mode off and decided I didn't care about 1mpg to get a little more get up and go. Your O2 sensors may soon need changing...for what it's worth for a few mpg, I won't replace mine until it throws codes or runs rough.

Yeah, you are a bit low. Like jdelp said it could be O2's, but if there is no code there is nothing to worry about yet. I was getting about 11.5 MPG when my MAF needed replacing. Now that I have that replaced, I get about 13.5-14 city, 17 highway. I only run sport mode when I need to so that saves alot.

Andrew, I get around 15 MPG out of the road, doing some trails and driving home, around 13 in town and 18.5 at 65 out on the highway. That is in Colorado with 100,000 miles and an exra 1000 ponds of stuff in and on the truck.
You can do better.
If interested, e-mail me your tele number and a good time for me to call you.

I'm averaging 16.5 all around in a mix of highway/suburban driving- or at least I was before I swapped tires last week. I haven't run a tank of gas through it with the new tires so I don't know what it will be now. I seldom floor it, and generally drive pretty sedately.

Dumb question, but how do you guys measure your mpg? Many of you seem to have a pretty precise sense of highway vs. city averages, and my way of keeping track (just starting the trip counter when I fill up the tank) is at best an approximation. Is there a better way to figure out what kind of mileage I'm getting?
Mike, thanks for the call on Sunday. I'll plan on calling you at some point this week.

I seem to get around 14.0 mile/gallon pretty regularly with a fair 50/50 driving highway vs local..... I heard that checking to ensure your tires are filled with air to the correct psi can help your miles/gallon also... I know there is many factors but i heard this is one of them
