Well, that idea there proves you were drunk.
It wouldn't have helped you any.

So I talked to Bill at GBR today. Super nice dude, he's very helpful. Essentially I think I'll be buying 3 diffs from Marty Powell, $70 shipped btw, great deal. I'll use 1 front diff now, and send two diffs out to GBR for Bill to install True Tracs in each with 4.11 gears. He explained what happened to my front diff pretty in depth. It was essentially due to TC engaging too much over a certain amount of time. He explained how the LSD will be stronger and help the TC be more effective. We'll see how this all turns out.

Oh and if you drive offroad, go buy a diff from Marty for $70 shipped just in case.

Correct. You need to have lockable/unlockable hubs in order to drop the front shaft and not spin the diff.

On the flip side, I dropped the rear driveshaft on the highway in a CJ-7 when a Ujoint seized and terminated. Pulled over, jumped out and locked up the front hubs, put it in 4-wheel high and kept on to work. Bought a couple shafts off e-bay, shipped for $75 and a couple ujoints from autozone and I was back in business. Damn I miss those cheap jeeps.

But back on topic, even if you dropped the front shaft the wheels would be turning, which means hubs are turning, which means axles, which means diff, which means more cash burner up.

Any idea when you're going to have those TrueTracs installed? I'd love to know how they perform. I'm thinking I'm going to slap one in my rear axle here in a few months.

Damn that sucks, good thing you can laugh about it though.

Who sells a good diff guard? I'm trying to get mine ready to mainly off road.

In a couple months I believe, have to wait for GBR to get their 4.11 gears back in stock.

Lucky8 has a few different brands, and Rovers North has the Terrafirma one as well, which is the one I'll be installing.
DIFF GUARD TERRAFIRMA DSCO II FRONT, TF838 - Land Rover Parts | Rovers North
DIFF GUARD TERRAFIRMA DSCO II REAR, TF839 - Land Rover Parts | Rovers North
