Default Hard to put gas into tank....

Ok, if you have made it this far, then you are curious about the topic.
I have a problem with filling up the gas tank. I get about 3 to 4 gallons into her and then it acts like the tank cannot hold anymore gas, and shuts the pump off. Yet, knowing that I still have a ways to go.

Can anyone tell me whats going on?

I have the feeling that it has something to do with the fuel canistor on the right fender well..
Welcome any and all comments.

John

Its the station not your truck.
The vacuum that pulls the vent gas away in the pump works slow when there
a lot of other cars at the station filling up at the sametime.

That is what I have found on mine.

Try another station and see if you have the same problem, if you do, there is most likely a problem with the fuel filler pipe on your truck not venting properly.

I have ran accross the same issue a couple of times, mostly the Sams Club (Cheap premium...) down the street from work. Which I usually lift the nozzle out about a inch to help it vent, which the guy at the place says the pumps always do that. Which most other gas stations I dont have issues.

Yeah my truck has done the same thing since I got it over two years ago. I kinda just learned to live with it. Mostly cause in Jersey we don't have to pump our own gas

I've had this problem twice, at 2 different stations. The first time I dismissed it as an issue with the high-velocity pump, but the 2nd time was at a station I've patronized before and without trouble. I did fill the truck up at least once (maybe twice) between these two instances without any issue.

So, I'm not sure what's going on. But, it's time for gas again...
