Those look like the 18's.

BTW back to the original topic, you could always have it wrapped. It wont hold up to offroading but if your truck isnt going offroad every weekend, it will hold.
Just pull all your trim yourself, then send it to get wrapped.

I have some inquiries if it’s not too much trouble, guide me about this. These inquiries are displayed underneath here:

Sitting tight for most appropriate response straightaway. I’m excessively confounded here

I got a quote from a ** very good ** shop in the PNW on my Disco 2 just to do the roof, which has the usual clear coat issues. Done properly, rain gutter sealant removed and replaced, sunroofs and roof rails off, Alpine windows to stay in... and just the roof was $2800. If I did all the work removing the bits, headliner, sunroofs, etc.

This is from a bodyshop that does restorations and high end porsche etc work. So on the absolute upper end. I told them I wanted it perfect, without exception.

At the time I asked them how much for the whole car and they said 12K minimum if no bodywork required. This is again, a proper, full on job, doors removed, etc. I decided it was fine as is for now.

I'm looking to paint my classic as I have new body panels that need installed and I'm looking at over a grand in just primer, paint and clear and it's probably going to be closer to 1500-2k. No other prep materials or time. So the above cost for a real solid job for just the roof really isn't as far fetched as it sounds.

Sanding prep and detail work takes much time and effort. Equals dollars or elbow grease. And proper materials like PPG paint products are $$$. I painted my CJ5 myself with PPG urethane. Came out great. But, I must emphasize I was tired of sanding and prepping.

May I suggest a solid color? These buff out easy compared to a metallic. Practice on an old fender until you can lay out a nice glossy coat.

Like nashvegas said, it can be more expensive if you want quality work. I would never paint anything where I didn't remove every piece of trim and all the glass. The Disco is not special, but it does have a good amount of glass and the two sunroofs to remove. I would even hesitate to paint it without removing the fender flares. Color of paint and the quality will also affect price, some paints can get pretty pricey.

You can save money by stripping everything off the car and maybe even doing some metal prep, but my shop likes to do the sanding themselves as they caution that if you are too aggressive you may warp the metal.

They are currently repainting my white1984 Mercedes that requires a down to bare metal sanding (lots of man hours) and their estimate is $6,000.00. This is using a German paint (Standox) and the color is white, so a bit less expensive that say a red pearl metallic like my 04 Disco. In addition to the cost of the paint job consider the added cost of replacing any seals.
