Heated Seat update:

After reading several threads on the heated seat issue, I found myself needing more information to determine if my heat elements were good/bad or just a fuse. This is what I find out through testing and research. The yellow relay and fuse bus under each driver and pass. seats are for the "power" seats in fact. They have nothing to do with the heating element. The fuse that controls the heated seats is number 15 in the fuse box under dash. Its a 20amp. fuse. For some, you may be thinking that this is really simple information. While this would be true if one had a owners manual, but if your like me-who does not have one, it took a little bit of searching before I found it.

Also, for those of you who do not have the owners manual, Land Rover has provided them online from years 2000 -2003. The website for that is: http://www.ownerinfo.landrover.com

The rave cd has all the owners manual in it, also free.

Both seat heaters do not heat my seats now. I checked the rave manual and they skip heated seats in the electrical troubleshooting section. Both switches light up when pressed. Since both seats stopped working at the same time I suspect the seat elements are not bad. I checked all of the 20 amp fuses under the dash and they are good. Any suggestions?

If the little orange light on the heated seat switch is coming on, then power is getting to the switch and the problem would be from the switch to the seat. Check and see if your heating elements are plugged in and connected properly. thats all that I know to tell you. Hope that helps.

Yea, just checked the plugs they look good. It is odd they they both stopped working at the same time.

There are two 30 amp fuses under each seat and I checked them and they are good. RAVE does not address heated seats, maybe this weekend I will pull out the seats and check the circuits. Anyone else have suggestions?

Thanks okdiscoguy. I went back and looked at RAVE and discovered I was looking at the english version instead of export version for the 97. Once in the export version I found M2, which was missing in the english version.
