Default Heated windshield ??

For a 2002 SD, does anyone know if the windshield gets replaced with a heated windshield, is the wiring present? I see on bputah that you can buy a switch, I am just curious about the wiring.

Thanks
-Kevin

our trucks are usually pre-wired for nearly everything. im not certain but my guess would be yes. my question is why would you do that? a normal windshield is $240 the heated is over $700.

Wow over 700 bucks to replace the heated, i sure hope that mine does not crack. I do like the headed windscreen though, its nice not having to wait for the truck to warm up before i can defrost the front window.

Go look and see if yours is wired. It can be wired either way depending on if it had the cold climate package or not. Do you have a switch on the dash for the front glass?

Why dont you guys have glass coverage on your trucks?
The $24 per year it costs me to have it has more than paid for its self.

They replaced my drivers outside mirror when it was broken in a parking lot by some ones car door as well as my windshield.

I have Nationwide, I have had them for 10+ years now and I have a actual insurance agent.
Full coverage on both cars with full glass and towing on the wifes car and including our renters policy we pay $152 per month with a $500 deductible.
Glass has $0 deductible.
Towing covers up to $85 but not lock out or gas delivery.

The glass shop knocked my headliner down, the insurance company bought me a brand new one and paid to have it installed by a body shop...$1000 for the headliner and labor.
Cost to me, I was without my truck for a day.

I think Geico has a $100 deductible, but after that they pay the rest.
