RE: heated windshield, need favor !
Connectors were checked and had no signs of rust or any corrosion at all. They were also treated to dielectric grease.
Update: Started the truck this morning with very foggy windows. tried using the windshield defrost alone, and as usual...NOTHING!!! and to add to it, I couldn't feel the strain on the engine like I did yesterday.
Will probably have to cut the wires coming from the windshield, and install real female type connectors.

RE: heated windshield, need favor !
All right, printed the pages of the electrical circuitry of the heated windshield and after some extansive searching, unplugging, removing the underhood fuse box from its position and finding an old squirel nest under it ( thank god all connections were intact), I finally found the culprit... a relay wasn't completely pushed into position. Now it works and all I have to say is WOW! Now I know what people were saying regarding how convenient it was for winter use. We had a winter storm last night where there was a mix of freezing rain and wet snow that froze overnight.
Needless to say that all my windows were covered with a thick coat of crusted snow. I started the Disco this morning, pushed the heated windshield switch only and proceeded to de-ice the windows, starting with the passenger's side and going around the back. By the time I got to the windshield ( 2 minutes or so) the ice came down all at once as if taking a blanket off the windshield.....pretty impressing. Glad to finally see that device in operation.
Thanks to all that gave answers and/or support on this mather.
