Question Help with Disco II 2000

I need help with how to go about selling the vehicle I bought for my son. I purchased a 2000 Discovery II with 115,000 on the clock 6 months ago and dropped about 3k into it getting all the recommended repairs after an inspection. I got the hoses and serpentine belt replaced. Replaced the upper and lower ball joint/suspension, replaced the oil pan gasket and rear main engine crankshaft seal. My son then drove the car for 2 months and then it broke down on the side of the road. I had it taken back to the repair shop and they said that the engine has blown. I'm really not in a place to drop another 3.5k on getting the engine fixed and would really love the car to go to someone who would love to fix it. The body is in perfect condition and the inside is in great condition.

Any advice on how to move forward in this process would be hugely appreciated.

You could start by mentioning your location.

Craigslist? Post a for sale ad in the forum Marketplace? Facebook Marketplace?

Take a look on some sales platforms and you should get a decent idea on what pics to take, things to write, and price.

Good chance you can sell it here in the Marketplace. Assuming this is a Florida truck and the condition is as good as you describe, it's probably worth more than you might think in spite of the "blown engine". Post up some pics, and then do your research regarding value.

I was told I had a blown engine three times, they were only correct one of those times.

Get a few more opinions....

That situation has trouble written all over it... Find a few LR specific shops.

Check out the ads on this site (top menu Marketplace > The Rover Marketplace > Discovery).
