Default Help fixing Land Rover Discovery Bumper

Hi, I could use a little help as I'm not the most knowledgeable on this type of stuff. Last week I backed into a gate and cracked the bumper right where the tail light is. Bumper crack doesn't really bother me but am told that the only way to fix the light issue is to get a new bumper. My question is should I be looking at a bumper cover or a new bumper? I think the bumper cover. I was quoted$1300 by a shop to do this so am going to try to find the parts on my own and get a buddy to help me.

Thanks

But am told by whom ? A Land Rover Dealership ? A body shop ?

I'm sure you can order all those parts individually... Check with a local body shop...
Don't take your car in.. Just call and say someone broke out the light and you need a new lens and reflector if it's broken too..

Also you can check with a salvage yard...Lots of guys here salvage Discos... Try Paul Grant..

Good Luck..

John

That is a thin plastic covering. The front and back bumpers are useless. Don't ever waste money on replacing stock bumpers.

For that money you could probably get front and back bumpers in steel from a variety of sources. I'm looking at the Terrafirma from RoversNorth right now. Shipping is my issue of course.

Thanks for the replies. I was given the quote by a body shop. I'll give Paul Grant a try and look into the steel option. I need a new front bumper to anyhow.

Oh my Lord! $1300!?! Even ordering the heavy duty from us with replacement lights you'd only be out $700! It's only an hour worth of work to install the thing, very simple.

ZG. Are you the gentleman that I spoke with regarding shipping it to PR? I think I'm going to do it.

Most likely not Slang as I'm not in sales, but that's good to hear! These Terrafirma bumpers are going like crazy, people are loving them. You'll definitely enjoy it, and the install is a breeze. I also shot photos of the install in case you get stuck anywhere, I have photos.
