Default HELP! need ideas

ok, base line:
2000 discovery II w/141k
new plugs/wires/airfilter/MAF/crank position sensor
vehicle is up to date on maintence except for 3 amigos

problem:
when at idle truck runs fine.
when i put it into drive vehicle will behave normally until 1800-2000 RPM and then vehicle loses all power with RPMs dropping to less than idle. vehicle top speed is approximately 11 MPH. rover occasionally dies, but will restart immediately. this happens when vehicle is both hot and cold.

any idea on what to try next?

btw no error codes (other than P1590 - ABS 3 amigos, we are old friends...) and no check engine light...

So with it in park or neutral you cant rev it past 2,000 rpm?
With it in drive you cant go any faster than 11 mph?

in park or neutral it will rev to redline with no issues.
in gear while trying to move in a forward direction it will only go to 10 or 15 mph.
then it loses power...

Then it s a transmission issue.
Have you checked the trans fluid lately?

just a few hours ago. even he seemed baffled by this. he recommended that i check the MAF o-ring. then cross check the MAF by switching it with xb70valkaries (if he is willing to drive the 90 min to help out - hint hint fred...) which we know is working properly. assuming the new MAF and oring are working as they should the only thing left is cam position sensor.
if i understood properly a malfunctioning Cam sensor will mess up the fuel injection sequencing thus makeing it run poorly. but i may have that wrong.

ideas?
what is f@cking us up is the lack of error codes or check engine light.

There are no codes because it is a transmission problem.

That tranny has codes that run from 700 to 800, if there were a problem, believe me it would show up, rull the tranny out.
Did you swap out the MAF yet?

Sounds like a MAF to me... Just so Spike feels better, does it sputter to 10MPH, or run fine and then rev around 10 MPH? With it in gear and your foot on the brake, hit the gas pedal. If it doesn't move or feel like you have power, I am still betting MAF.
