Default Help a noob out (a suspension question)

Hi guys ,
I have a 2000 Disco 2, it's my first 4x4 and I love it. Can you tell me what this hole is for, and why I have nothing bolted to it?

It's for a RHD D2. The knuckles come with the connection for the tie rod on either knuckle, but it depends which configuration it's setup for that determines if it's used or not.

I was curious about that also years ago then realised these are built across the pond..
Same reason we have 4 holes in the windshield cowl (2 capped off).. depends on which way the wipers are going to be installed.
