Default help tracking down noise

I've had several rattles/noises I've been tracking down...well I thought it was one but I have more than one thing.

It's sort of rattle or clanging noise. Not all the time, but everyone once in a while and it seemed worse when I was stopped going down an incline......it's worse when I'm stopped and in gear and got quieter when it put it in park. So it's not an axle/shaft issue because it doesn't make noise when I'm I'm moving, at least not that I can tell. It's also louder inside. I loose the distinct noise once I'm outside.

It's not the hood prop. It's not my broken fog light....already isolated those and quieted them down. Nothing that I can tell is loose. Any thoughts?

What's the best way to check the mounts....motor, tranny, etc? I glanced a them and didn't notice anything but to be honest I wasn't sure what to be looking for.

Thanks. I did have a bit of a rattle from the left cat heat shield. I doesn't sound like the same noise but I bent it to it would stop. We'll see what that does.

Still looking for the proper way to check the motor/tranny mounts. Thanks

That noise would be the fact that I had 2 bad motor mounts, and one bad tranny mount....go figure it made noise. 1 out of 4 isn't bad, right?
