How best to pry out a stuck fuel pump
I am replacing a fuel pump in hopes of remedying a hard starting issue. See this post if interested in that:

I have gotten to the pump (it was covered in an half inch of beach sand -- previous owner lived in SD before giving it to his son who gave it to my son.
Anyhow, I am down to the pump (see pics) and once I had the retaining ring off, I expected it to pop right out from the pressure of the spring, but it is not budging.
I tried prying around it to get see if I could get it moving but so far no luck. It has those two tabs, could those be stuck?
Any advice or tricks to break the seal and get the old pump out?

There's a rubber gasket/oring around the pump assembly that holds the whole thing in place. I found that with some wiggling and rotating, the seal is broken and you'll be able to pull the whole assembly out. Be careful with the rubber seal if you don't have another on hand as they tear easily.
