How to gain some miles from the dealership~must read
So I bought a 01 discovery II SE7 a week and a half ago. Had to drive to the IL, I live in WI. Found it on craigs list, very clean, 148000 miles. I remember looking at the trip odometer and thinking oh great, gotta figure out what I really drove, never occuring to me at the time that the odometer itself might be reading in Km also. I read up on some of the threads on a couple things that I had minor problems with, one of which was how to toggle my trip odometer from Kilometers to Miles. I found out how to do it and did it this morning, and while changing my trip odometer to miles, it also changed the odometer to read in miles, which to my delight was 92,700!!!! I couldnt believe that the dealership I bought this from didnt know any better than to check out what the Km meant under the odometer numbers......wow. The sticker in the window even says next oil change 151,000, I guess thats kilometers! Sooooo, do I sell this sweet ride and make some decent money on it or keep it??? KEEP IT!! I love this thing already and cant wait to learn more about it!!! I will definately get my money's worth out of this one!
Cheers,
Cheers,

At 148k there would have been a good chance the head gaskets were replaced. Since it's 93k chances are it hasn't but who knows.... Catch up on the 60k mile service list and rebuild the front drive shaft if not already. Premium gas only!
and Welcome...
and Welcome...
Sounds like a keeper to me ! but do go on with the 60k service ....if the dealer wasnt aware of the odometer, then they probably didn't spend a lot of time on the predelivery service either.
That's awesome. I had the opposite which was almost a heart attack. 03 Discovery SE7 Mine read 150K miles and i accidentally changed it to km. I freaked out when i saw the 246k on it and thought I was lied to. Needless to say, I realized 5 minutes later that it was in Km. A good laugh later and now.
