Default How to install a side step w/o brackets?

I bought a pair of side steps (running boards) from ebay. However, there is no brackets coming with the steps. Is there a way bodyshop guys can weld them on the chassis?

Any comments/suggestions are welcome.
Thanks !!

THey can, but they will be on there for good. Price the mounting hardware at the dealer. It probably won't be too much.

Is this for a D1?

Get the hardware kit for sure, at RoverConnection ($75, part number STC 50225), and it will work with either style running board.

I find out from the "running board installation guide" (which is downloaded from LR site) I still need4 Z-shaped metal brackets on top of the STC50225.

They are asking for US$200 with shipping !!!!!

This is the problem in using eBay, the kit from Rovers Land looks like it has what you need, and I bet that why their price is so high.

Unless you can get the brackets fabbed at a shop you'll need the $200 kit, you'll have an even harder time finding just the brackets. Or return the running boards and look for a more complete set.

Thanks, Disco2Guy. I think I have no choice but the $200 kit because I bought the boards from ebay private sale. No returns.
