How much $ can be made parting out D2's?
I have seen a couple of D2's for sale on FB Marketplace for $1500-$2500, which I assume I could get for $250-$500 below asking price. In you guys' experience who part them out or have in the past, what kind of profit margins do you see? Is it even worth doing if there is nothing I want to personally pull from the vehicle? Both of the ones mentioned were SE7's, the cheaper one was missing the motor, the other was listed as running but had some damage to the front right corner/bumper/hood.
I guess another way to put it would be what have you seen as the total value of the vehicle parted out individually, accounting for parts that don't sell?
Thanks!

it's a lot of work for not that much profit once you factor in time. Also I wouldn't pay more than a grand for one I planned on parting out and even then it's a little steep. Better bet is to probably flip one that is in good shape and drop a known good motor in or something like that if pure profit is the goal.

For a "part out" vehicle...a grand at the very, very most...and it better have an engine. No engine...3 or 4 hundred.

I have done this twice in the last 2 years. Mostly because I wanted something from them and I got the for 1000 each
I found it to be a good experience. I’m in Ontario Canada and you don’t see many discos here. But to my suprise I did have tons of people calling about parts
I sold window motors door locks abs module ace pump power steering stuff etc you don’t make a huge profit and I didn’t hold on to them more than a month.
And I sold the rest for $1000 easy due to scrap metal prices on the rise
here is a video of this crazy guy from England driving off on my recently parted out d2. I told him not to the suspension was about to fall off and brakes were gone engine barely had water in it lol

Most of the time, you're better off repairing and flipping them for cash.
Last one I did, was about 12$/hr after adding up all of my cost/gains.

Thanks everyone for the feedback! So flipping definitely sounds like the way to go, although in reality I'd probably actually pull some parts from a good one... But, good info, thanks! I would definitely see it as a hobby/learning experience so not making top dollar for my time would be okay, but still it sounds like flipping one would be a good choice!
