Default Hs 2.8 tgv

I Have installed a HS 2.8 TGV Diesel into a Manual shift Discovery.
I would be happy to share my experiences (Positive & Negative) with anyone considering this engine swap.

Let's hear some details! How much did it cost? Was the swap difficult? Are you happy with the outcome?

The kit came from Motor & Diesel (UK) you can see a price list on their site.
I'm very happy with the performance, it's a gutsy engine and in real world driving performs better than the V8. not as smooth as the V8 but it has a very low fuel consumption - averaging about 28 mpg (imperial), 34 US I Think.

I have have clutch problems, firstly the supplied set (standard 300 Tdi) could not hold the torque, second set worked fine until the centre sheared out of the clutch plate, there might be an alignment problem - will let you know.
The engine supplier has been very helpful and has sent new parts but there is still an issue of who pays for all the labour.

Chris.

How much is shipping to the states? A million dollars?
And like UP said, if you can bottle it I'll buy it.

I'm told that this engine works well with the (modified) automatic transmission, perhaps it's stronger or the fluid coupling smooths out the torque.

Everything was included and fitted well, I did the job myself with a little help.
The instructions cover everything but not in great detail - a few photos might have helped.
