Eh, yeah, I thankfully have a pretty high income, and overall owning these Discos has been super affordable compared to the cost of a car payment for anything like it and newer. My RRS payment alone was $1K/month before selling it for the 2004 Disco. So every once in a while whenever a $600 Disco expense comes up, I'll happily pay it as I reflect on the $1K/month I'm not paying.

Any kits available to extend the CPS wiring harness now? That's also on the top 5.

I bought it when Gerry was selling it for much cheaper.

The relocation is worth the effort and cost for me. I has a misfire a few years ago before the relocation. It was out in the middle of nowhere in Central WA with my wife, 3 kids and mother-in-law. Not fun when trying to diagnose it inside a hot engine bay in the hot sun and the dang coil pack was very hard to access.

Just in case you are wondering, the mother-in-law was very gracious with the situation

And just this year, one of my coil packs failed during an offroad run. Just changed it in five minutes and off I went again.

This. Basically what it comes down to for me is... on the side of the road. Baby in the backseat. Wife in the car too. 100 degrees in the summer on the way to visit her parents in SoCal... stuck because a coil pack is bad. If you asked me if I would pay $350 to get the spare coil pack from the toolkit and be on our way within five minutes, I would 100% say yes please. Basically just doing that now preventatively.

I need to buy a spare coil pack now that this is a realistic roadside repair. I already keep a spare CPS in each disco, even though that's not going to be as quick of a swap.

Does he still have some in stock? I've been debating order the relocation kit for a while so I might just bite the bullet. With SAI, I don't really want to deal with removing the intake manifold to do the job haha.

I can't remember the exact number but I believe it was in the 30s.

I have the coil pack relocation kit and it is worth every penny. Brilliant design and quality.

Not that I know of, but if someone can figure out connector type an extension can be easily made. I'd like to do it myself.

Might be a bit of a PITA, but clipping the harness out of a donor disco might be the way to go.

Yeah that would be doable. I was looking for 3 pin bosch connectors the other day, but wasn't sure exactly what would work. It's either that or re-wire the entire harness, which I was considering in the future at some point.

My o2 sensor plugs on driver side are trashed, but there are extensions for those as they are more common type of connector. My problem is that wires and pins are all jacked as well. So another easy fix turned not easy for me.

Would be nice if someone produced a plug and play harness thats extended in some spots with better quality connectors. My wheel speed sensor connectors crumbled from all the engine heat torturing the poor quality plastics used everywhere. I actually rewired passenger side to use a different connector type out of frustration. Need to do the same to driver side. I just despise any type of electrical/wiring work.
