Default improving my 95 disco

I've recently been putting together a 95 disco 5 spd and purchased a 97 automatic with a siezed engine for misc. parts. Curious what I should upgrade from the 97. The 97 has bilstein shocks with stock springs. Some kind of larger exhaust and the distributorless ignition. Are these things worth keeping or transfering to my 95?

The 95 has the original springs/shocks so am curious about new stock height springs and using the bilsteins or just biting the bullet and going OME-Opinions?

Is the exhaust larger exhaust going to give me more horses and or mileage worth the trouble of putting it on since its 'free' to me?

any experiences with the ignition?

What else would you all pull to have around to avoid any potential down time or issues?

Thanks in advance!

Out of curiosity, what's the condition of the '97? Why are you swapping to the '95 instead of the other way around?

Default 95 vs 97

I had already done alot of work to the 95-brakes, bearings, all fluids, hoses, CV joint, magnecors/tune up. The 97 came several months later with a siezed engine ( I was taking the chance it might not be catastrophic but needed it for parts-window ECU, cruise control parts, interiorer trim etc). I like the 95-lower miles, 5 speed, and a nice green rather than black.

Drain the ATF that's probably in the gearbox and refill with Redline MTL. For some reason it appears LRNA never told owners here that they told the rest of the world's Land Rover owners with R380's that it should be switched.
Aside from the engine and autobox, you can use the entire drivetrain from the 97 in your 95, including the transfer case.
All the glass. The tail lights from the 97 will give you turn signals higher up (need to splice a wire at the light to get them to work).
Most of the interior and all the glass will work fine.
Actually pretty much everything but the engine and gearbox.

Thanks for the info. Curious where the port to read codes is on the 95. Found it on the 97 but still looking on the 95. I got the info on the R380 and am running Royal Purple because thats all I could find locally. I plan on getting the redline because it seems like I still have a little whine but that could be coming from the transfer case.
Thanks again for the reply!
