Inline PCV:
#21
I know that 20.00 plastic frito spiral chip looking thing is a joke vs say a 3.5/3.9L with the massive metal unit on the valve cover. I ordered two more off of Ebay today for a grand total of 9.00.
With the tiny hole in the valve cover I don’t see the diameter of the PCV’s hole being an issue especially with the 20.00 baffle gone.
It will pull a vacuum from the valve cover during regular operation & it will prevent back pressure from going back into the valve cover.

My engine is apart, and I don't remember what normally attaches to the intake where plastic tube is/replaced with metal pcv.
Doesn't that normally run to the valve cover anyway?
So it's basically just removing the plastic pos, and adding the pcv on the other end of the hose, right?

Exactly toss the plastic OEM nipple on the intake (every D2/P38 I touch I replace with a metal unit) and install the FV308 in it’s place & bingo job done and remove the 20.00 baffle from the valve cover.

No problem at all! It’s been something I’ve wanted to mess with for a while now. Having a 4.6L out and rebuilding it has me making improvements to it so it will last as long as possible.

Been working on bikes and cars many years, but this my first Disco.
Working on rebuilding the engine now.
Have a Crower cam, and everything else new or redone.
Waiting to get block back, then order pistons, see if I need to exchange my new stock size rings for bigger or not. Pin all 8 liners, blah, blah, blah.
Trying to do this the best way possible, with any tricks I can find along the way.
Wish I had time to port and polish, and don't want to pay for it.
May add headers in the future.
I need to do some reading on EGR valves, and see what's possible for these engines.

OK. So to get the baffle out of the housing on the 04 motor do I just put a rag around it and wiggle the housing out of the valve cover? Then yank that plastic oil separator out with needle nose?
