Default Inline Thermostat Mod Question

I'm planning on doing the inline thermostat mod on my 2001 Disco 2.

I've got the glowshift sensor adapter and inline thermostat housing ordered, but was wondering how to re-route the hoses at the bottom of the radiator once I remove the original thermostat.

Do I need a tee or something to put in its place?

I've done some searches, but cant seem to find any pics on the hose rerouting at the bottom of the radiator..

Any links or pics will be a great help!

Thanks, but that's not really what I'm looking for. Pretty cool though!

Trying to find what it looks like where the thermostat normally is after the inline thermostat mod..

Save yourself a bunch of time and money and just install a 180 degree soft spring t/stat.

I just noticed that most people doing this mod has the lower radiator hose that has the plastic 4 way fitting to connect each hose to. Mine is actually all 1 piece of hose. I don't have this adapter...




Has anyone done this mod using the original 'All Hose' hose, or know where I can just buy that adapter? I don't want to buy the whole she-bang for $99 when all I need is that adapter..

I think that's why I was having such a hard time figuring out the lower part of the change...

I had the same problem. We have the d1 lower hose instead of the d2 hose. I bought a d2 hose to make the mod work.

Did they update the hose in the later years of the D2? Mine is a 2001 and came with the all in one hose (I think). I've noticed that all the ones you can buy now have the 3 or 4 way plastic coupler..

I don't know. I just remember finding the all rubber hose listed as a d1 part.

I could be wrong.
