Left Front Axle Seal FTC4822 Install Orientation
My Land Rover Discovery 2 Left Front Axle Seal has been replaced twice and it is still leaking since I recently acquired the truck and I am convinced that the seal was installed by the previous owner in reverse, however I am looking to the you the confirm the install orientation.
Is the seal to be installed in Direction #1 or #2?
Thanks...

Unfortunately, I can't answer your question, but hopefully someone will.
I can say however, if you determine it is installed correctly and your leak is small (like 2" diameter overnight), try Blue Devil stop leak. It 'seems' to have stopped my minor leak, but I'm only 1 week in with the treatment, but so far so good.

That's interesting, has no one replaced an axle seal on this forum?
I even called British Altantic and they can't answer my question. The Rave manual has no mention of the direction of the seal.

Well, i remember cleaning it up and looking in there with out any real knowledge of what i was looking for. Looked ok, installed new seal and put it back together. Doesn't leak much but it isn't dry either.
