Left Front Spring Broken

As I was doing some maintenance, I noticed my left front spring is broken. Is it ok to replace just one of the springs? Will it throw the balance or steering off? I noticed that I can buy just one spring from Atlantic British for about $88.

Also, any special tools needed to replace?

The truck has 55K miles on it and stock.

Thanks!

your old springs have sagged some in 55K miles so there will probably be a height difference. This is a good excuse to buy new lifted springs. :D

Replace BOTH... Do it right.

Yes...you are correct jycsalas...I just ordered a kit from Atlantic British with both front springs

Someday NiteTrain I will get a lift...

Any special tools needed?

Thanks!

Exactly what springs did you order, be specific?
If you don't replace all 4, the rear will be sitting low and you should/must replace the shocks also cause they are shot.

Hey Mike,

I bought two of these...already on order: http://www.roverparts.com/Parts/REB101330.cfm

The shocks feel fine and the rear-end does not sag. At 55K miles and me only driving about 6K per year, I figured it should be fine.

I also figured since the front-end is a little lower in the front naturally, maybe the new springs will level it out. If not I will buy the rear springs.

Holy S**t. Why are you wasting your money on those springs when the OME springs are cheaper. I hope that didn't come out wrong but if you are planning on a lift in the future these springs are a big waste of money in my opinion. And if you do have to replace the rear springs b/c of how it sits you are already past the halfway point for the lift. Good luck
