Default long range tank

I just purchased a 128 liter ss fuel tank from stephen peters for my 04 discovery. I should receive it in about 30 days. It installs where the old tank fit. I will let you all know how it works out.

Take pictures and do a nice little "on going" write up from the moment you get it. Please... lol

Also, how much did it cost to get everything you needed to make the swap? I am just trying to weigh things to see if its worth it for only 8 gallons more fuel. I could easily carry my 6 gallon plastic tank on trips, ya know? I know that the tank has more pros then just more fuel, obviously (weight savings/stronger/Etc).

I am trying to figure out a way to add two 12 gallon axillary tanks (marine tanks probably) one on each side of the truck (to balance the weight) as low as possible. This would then basically double my range to close to 600 miles between fill-ups.

Anyone else's thoughts on this would be great too.

THANKS-

I thought 128 liters would be a little over 33 gallons. Did I figure wrong?

My '03 has a 25 gallon tank, so I am 99.99% sure your '04 would too. Do you have the RAVE manual for your truck or the owners manual in your glove box?

You may want to go see if that tank is DOT approved, doubt it since most are illegal in the U.S.

I didn't even think about that, I had a aftermarket plastic tank on one of my enduro bike's that was not DOT, but who's really going to check it unless you live in CA or a state that actually does inspections?
