Default Looking for opinions on paint.

The lower third of my truck has become pretty beat up over the years from stone chips and its time to do something about it. I'm torn between 3 options

1) Repaint the original silver
2)Apply a rubberized rocker guard paint and paint the original silver over top. Making a tough textured finish.
3)Paint the same rocker guard but leaking it bare black. Finish is a semigloss textured finish. Close to same color as the ARB but with a texture.

Zuke has an excellent point. You could get spray on wrap and see what you think.

I have my D2 wrapped with 3M 1080. It's OK'ish durability wise. Hood picks up rock chips and there is some trail rash on the sides from trees. Nice thing with wrapping the lower if damaged it could be redone or touched up with a paint pen.
