Default lr2 vs disco?

I went by the LR dealer to check out the new LR2. What do you guys think of it? The salesperson told me that the LR2 could do anything my stock 03 Disco can do. I find that hard to beleive. I am pretty sure that the LR2 shares the same engine that the Volvo s80 has.

I haven't seen the LR2 yet, I hear it is an improvement over the past vehicle and it is not a Disco off road in any way shape or form.

I think it's cute. Makes me want to paint my toe nails and go to the mall.

Seriously, my wife and I happened to check one out and there's nothing remotely off roadish about it.

Speaking of sales guys. When we were Disco shopping, the sales guy told us Land Rovers are every bit as reliable and cheap to repair as a Honda. Ya. Sure.

Saw it, thought it looked like a vehicle that my wife would drive. It's still a glorified Ford Escape. It, in no way has 1/10th the prestige look and/or personality that your Disco has. And like one of my favorite and most notorious car critic once said about it......It looks too cheap to wear the Land Rover badge and the people seing you drive in it, instead of thinking WOW he drives a Land Rover, would think that you just couldn't afford the disco ( it's so rare that most people think it's still made) or forthose that know... an LR3.

been in it driving down the motorway in pouring rain, looks good, seems safe, pretty sure it cant go off road unless its snow and it was also a top spec HSE but seemed to be lacking something in the interior

After looking at one recently I, personally, would be afraid to bring it off road. Now driving it around town, or even in the snow it would be great. But off-road I still think disco is the way to go, even the LR3 is not to bad at all, but that might be differnt then what you're looking for. I am hooked on disco all the way, good luck!

Maybe the Land Rover (all models) commercials recently should tell us of the changing attitudes @ LR.
Now some owners are happy to have clearcoat gravelguard on the rockers from offroading.

Where's the ads from a few years ago when you didn't see the rockers during the commercial?
