Default lubing sunroof rails?

For those of you that do this regularly, how often do you do it, do you do it without removing your headliner and rails? How do you clean it, and does it mater what you lube grease or some kind of spray oil?

I have been getting a lound pop or crack sound when opening the front roof and there seems to be some wobble/vibration on the one side of the sunroff -- the rail that sits closest to the driver's seat. Is there a way to adjust this or does it mean my rails are starting to go....or are already shot?

Any advice is appreciated very much...as always!

Thanks!
Matt

Mine pops pretty loud when I open mine also. I've tried lubing the rails, but it didn't make any difference.

Yes, but where? Like the OP, I've greased the rails and most everything else in the track but can't seem to nail down the rough sound and click at opening.

I just used Sta-lube marine lithium grease. It is more water resistant. It also happened to be what I had handy in the garage...

Will the white lithium grease soften the plastic ends?

I used a teflon spray to lube the tracks/cables. It quieted down my sunroofs.
