Lucky 8's new Project D2 - Bigger and Better than the last one
We decided here at Lucky 8 that it was time to build another project truck. Although Project P38 continues as does Project LR3, it only seemed fitting to have a little bit of everything. As an LR3 owner for the past 5 years, a P38 owner for a year, and a D2 Veteran for the past 10 years, another D2 Build was the obvious choice.
I had found the perfect donor truck: a 2000 Kent Green D2 in immaculate cosmetic condition. The previous owner had neglected his driveshaft chirping, thus creating the usual blowout and making it a donor truck. Since we had the extra transmission here in the shop, it made the deal even easier to negotiate.
After installing the new transmission, 4" prototype lift, brakes lines and rear bumper, we parked the truck outside to work on project LR3 in order to get it ready for the upcoming SCARR event in Texas. Unfortunately for us, our plow guy considers every truck we have as junk and included my Project D2 into a snow bank he created, destroying my pristine build.
After some head scratching and searching, I was able to locate a 2001 Epsom Green D2 in excellent condition just a few hours away in Cooperstown, NY. I had also just purchased a 2003 Monte Carlo Blue D2 for my mother-in-law and was meeting the seller in Scranton, PA so we hooked up the 40ft trailer, did a great big circle, and came home with two D2s.
With my trip to the Spring Uwharrie Safari in North Carolina quickly approaching, we scrambled to rebuild what we could in time for the event.
So far the truck includes the following:
Lucky 8 4" TerraFirma D2 Lift Kit
This Kit is an awesome setup and is a great bang for the buck and is available for purchase.

Here is a current picture, and I will keep updating as I keep adding.
Thanks,
