Lug nuts...
2000 Discovery 2... I was about to take it in to purchase new tires and happened to notice a "dimple" on only one of the lug nut caps... According to the manual this is a wheel lock.... Come to find I don't have the wheel lock tool ! Can't get the happy cap off either...
My question is... How far up ****s Creek am I ???

The dimpled lug is on a wheel... not the spare. Must have been the previous owner?? I get it back on the spare.
Thank you

This is a VERY common problem with all Disco's, there are tin covers on the lug nuts and these tin covers DO NOT come off unless you cut them off.
What you need to do is get a 1/2" drive 1" 1/16" 6 POINT socket and a 1/2" drive breaker bar.
Take a can of Liquid Wrench and a small hammer, spray your lug nut cover with the pen/lube, hammer your socket onto the lug nut, loosen it, remove the socket.
Next lug.
Do this to all the lug nuts.
It what happens is that when they use a impact wrench to put the lugs back onto the truck the tin caps "stretch" and then you cannot get your tire tool on them unless you hammer it on.
The worse part about this whole deal will be getting your socket back off of your lug nut after you hammer it on.
You MUST use a 6 point socket or the tire tool that came with the truck.
This is what most locking lug nuts look like.
