Multi double cardan front drive shaft
 

Just wondering if anyone is running a multi double cardan shaft in the front.
First hand experiences with them in the front of a discovery are hard to find.

Fixing my castor put my driveshaft angles into a not so happy place. Havent measured angles yet but getting a vibration now.
Sporting a great basin rover HD shaft at the moment.

You might need a spacer depending on the suspension that I'm assuming you installed. Anything over a 3" lift could be considered for a spacer on the drive shaft. Doesn't matter what drive shaft you have now, is it serviceable? Have you serviced it? Does it need a rebuild? How are you "fixing" your castor?

Don't know that much of the "scene" in the US, but how are You even thinking about having some diy two double cardan joints on a d2 front propshaft?
Even with a lift.

Just get a proper wide angle prop and be happy with it.
I have a 3" lift on my´03 TD5 and went for a Gwyn Lewis.

Currently
4 to 4.5 inches of lift in front similar on the rear depending on load.
6 degree corrected front radius arms
Truck is evolving from its original 2 inch lift so i expect to spend some cash on hiccups.
Great basin rovers HD driveshaft in good shape fully greased up. Just had it off to inspect all is well.

I was attempting to not make a super long winded post.

The truck had no vibration issues before castor correction, Just super sketchy steering at speed.
The 6 deg of castor correction turned the pinion angle more extreme causing a vibration it seems.
Ill be measuring specific driveline angles as soon as i get another chance to get out there.

The shaft with Multi or Double double cardans is a Tom woods.
Ive seen these on strictly offroad vehicles at slow speeds. Never at freeway speeds. Hence looking for 1st hand accounts. They say its fine. But they also get the $$

I've never personally run one, but the multi double Carson shaft should be your fix. With a double Carson shaft you want your differential yoke pointing straight at your tcase output yoke. The two joints on the tcase end balance each other out and your differential joint is straight on this way, reducing harmonics. Now you've got one joint that has no matching joint at the same angle to soak up the harmonics.

Multi double cardon should be just fine on the highway. Again, I've never run them, but from my understanding that is your fix.

Did not know those actually exist, but, I'm still a bit "fresh" on offroading etc.
