my new to me disco II 03 couple ?s
OK so heres the deal I got a 2003 discovery II SE for $8290 from private party it has 41k miles its a 03 coils in rear no locker but se and loaded. It has the 3 amigos going on it doesnt effect it power wise, brake wise or other that I can tell but it also has the tilt light with the ! symbol on and traction control as well. It doesnt ding at all and drives fine now the power locks work from the dash button but not if I stick the key in the door and twist and the button on the key doesnt lock them either but if you start driving or push the dash button it works fine. It makes no noises as far as motor or any issues it drives perfect, will the 3 amigos cause havoc I was told they shouldnt but its my first disco and Id like input from you guys. Its mint from head to toe aside of the idiot lights and works perfect aside of the lock issue.
Any direct help is appreciated as well as what services should I look at doing with 40k miles.
I drove it 300 miles one way as a break in and get used to it drive!

Definitely search and see if your truck falls within the VIN range ('03s are notorious for needing new engines). Even if it does not keep and eye our for your oil light or even install an oil pressure gauge.
The 3 amigos means you have an ABS system fault and most likely means you have no ABS or traction control. Do a hard stop and try to spin the tires so you can see whether the ABS is working and post back. Also search for the 3 amigos there is tons of info on this site.

Also whats a common issue for the traction control that can be looked for. I ddi a search for trhe oil tsb vin and nothing.
Thanks and yeah now Im hoping its not falling into that category.

I believe it is this:
"The VIN range is all 2003 Discoverys ending with 3A771801 – 3A808362"
Slam on your brakes if you do not feel the ABS pulsing then your traction control will not work either. The 3 amigos can be caused by anything from noisy brakes to a bad modulator. The most common cause is either a bad connection in the modulator or a bad hub or ABS sensor. If you have ABS then it is probably the modulator connection and if you don't have ABS then it is more than likely a bad sensor or hub. You will need to get your ABS codes read first, I would check and clean your brakes first if they are really dusty.
