Default Nanocom question (US)

This may be a dumb question, but I’m looking to acquire a nanocom evolution diagnostic tool. Everywhere I’ve checked online, you have to have a VAT number to order one. Anyone have any advice? Thanks!

VAT is only for European customers (there are exemption like we have business tax exampt customers here). There should be an option to select non VAT or go to checkout and put in your US address and it should recalculate non VAT. If that doesn't work contact the seller and ask.

Okay, that makes more sense. I assumed even international buyers would have to have some sort of tax number.

On another note, I’m assuming for most basic functions, all one would need for a 2002 Disco II 4.0 is the Motronic V8 Disco kit, is that accurate?

As far as I know yes, the other option for D2 is the diesel.

You will definitely need 2 unlock codes for the Discovery 2 Bosch V8 4.0/4.6L:
- #NCOM15 which is the Nanocom unit, OBD cable and the Range Rover P38/Discovery 2 Motronic Petrol V8 unlock code to access the Engine Control Unit (ECU) functions.
- #NCOM13 is the Discovery II Systems unlock code to access of the Valeo BCU, Lucas ACE system, Bosch autobox, TRW Airbag system, and RR P38/Discovery 2 Hella Cruise Control. For the all other unlock codes, you can purchase and download from the Nanocom site and they don't take PayPal. Here's a hint... I found it cheaper when I bought the unlock codes in Euros without VAT.

Another Discovery 2 option which @Sandman614 mentioned is the #NCOM11 and is only for TD5 Diesel engine owners.

Good time to buy one too with the GBP to USD difference being so small compared to what it used to be. Just got one a month ago for a couple hundred dollars less than I was expecting to pay.

If you are buying the NCOM04 tool for Motronic V8 Discovery II do you really need both of those?

USD 425.78 NCOM04 - The unlock codes included in this kit will activate the software for the following Petrol V8 Discovery II systems: Motronic V8 engine management Discovery II, SLABS (Self Leveling and ABS), BCU, ACE (Active Cornering Enhancement), Auto box and Airbag. Please see the Products page on the web shop for more detailed information of the capabilities with each ECU.

USD 63.44 NCOM13 - This unlock code adds the SLABS (Self Leveling and ABS), BCU, ACE (Active Cornering Enhancement), Auto box and Airbag to the Nanocom Evolution
USD 63.44 NCOM15 - This unlock code adds the Motronic V8 petrol engine management to the Nanocom Evolution where not already included. It can be used on either a P38 or Discovery II model. Please note that while you can access the Motronic engine management on the P38 with the Blue OBD lead, you will require the Green OBD lead NCOM023 if you intend to also add the rest of the P38 systems if you only have a Blue OBD lead or indeed an LD024 CAN BUS lead
