Default Need help fixing your GEAR SHIFT INDICATOR?

if your gear shift indicator is all off and the light and indicated gear positions are not in their proper positions, or if the ball is broken off from right below the shift ****, let me know. i can help. i just fixed this problem on my 1997 Disco.

i also took pictures of the procedure step by step, so it would be easier for anyone who would attempt this. i wish i could make a web page with the instructions on how to do this. if any of you guys want to use these pictures, let me know too.

Did this to mine last year. The center console is a pain to get off.

mine came off pretty easy. took me about an hour to do the whole thing. the only thing that kind of stomped me was putting the hand brake back together.

there used to be a repair kit for the illumination unit, but I believe it is NLA. I think you have to get the entire unit now.
