I doubt it.
I wonder if a guy put a "deflector shield" on the side of the transmission the double cardon wouldnt ruin it.

That would have to be one HD deflector shield given the force it takes to knock a hole in the tranny case.

I pulled the front propeller shaft this morning and dropped it off at the shop.... should be done tomorrow. $172 plus some money for Caesar. Took me all of 20 minutes.... much easier than anticipated.

My question (and it may be a naive one, apologies)is why won't the truck drive unless I have the differential's locked? I put it in drive when the differentials aren't locked, nothing. Lock the differentials, and off she goes. I had imagined, apparently incorrectly, that the rear wheels would get power regardless of whether they were locked or not.... that just linked them togeather....

hmmm.....

Can anyone enlighten me?

Thanks

Jason

Yes, yes it would.
Next time somebody asks about the front drive shaft rebuild you need to post those pics so that they understand.

The center differential is a open diff, meaning it will send power the place of least resistance.
By locking it it sends equal amounts of power front and aft.

I would not have grease monkey do anything to your Disco. I would recomend having the dealer do the transmission flush or a shop that specalizes in Land rovers. You can easily change front and rear differential and transfercase oil your self. I used Red line synthetic for mine. Check your belt for wear or just change it. Sure beats breaking down on the side of the road. Enjoy your new rig!
