New off road bumper is ordered!
About a month ago I posted that I was rear-ended by a little VW Golf that managed to crack my bumper skin on the rear bumper. His car had a couple of thousand in damage since he pretty much went under me and my hitch really tore his car up.
I've been busy with travel so I just finally met with his insurance company's adjuster. After he checked out the damage and did his paper work he cut me a check for $765. Not too bad since I decided a few days ago to go with the High Country Disco II model and it runs $795 with shipping! The reason I chose the High Country one was partly price and quality and some recommendations from others. I also like the fact I can add on the oversize tire & gerry can carrier afterwards if I want to. I also want to use the stock bumper hitch and the in bumper lights. Some of the other companies selling after market bumpers either did not do the lights but gave you stick on LCD lights or you lost the hitch. My off roading needs are not as demanding as others so I had to way several issues to make my decision.
From what they told me at High Country all I will need to do is take off the lower section of the rear fender and touch up with paint and do the install.

I like that bumper too. Please posts many picks after it's all done. Maybe some of the installation too. Only thing i dont like is that it's wider than say, the stock bumper and it sticks out a few extra inches to accommodate the carrier... that's why im leaning towards RTE's only cuz it looks soo much like stock the way the angled the sides. RTE's bumper looks like what all DII's should have come like from factory. it just looks good but it is the most $$$$$$$.
Maybe your pics will sway my desicion. =)
