new or used KEY FOBs... any ideas??
Again, I tried to search it but it wouldn't let me because I think it returned too many results and I tried scrolling but didn't see anything.
So I only have one key fob and its super broken but it is the ONLY way I have to lock and unlock the car. **my key only works in the ignition, I have another thread about re-keying the door cylinder, which I will want to do regardless, but I figured I would start a thread about specifically getting new FOBs**
So, Rover dealership and everyone I have found online all want the same $250ish for a new key/fob combo. Is there anywhere where I can find used FOBs or aftermarket ones that will work for a better price???
I am sure this has been covered 1000 times, sorry for asking it again.

You can find refurbished keyfobs with key blanks that a locksmith and cut for you on eBay all the time. Usually around $80. You WILL HAVE TO have it programmed by someone with the appropriate software. A friend, a local Rover shop kr Euro specialist, etc. Autologic, Hawkeye, nanocom are the common brands that seem to work correctly.
There is no DIY trick to program the key fob buttons, sorry to say.
Alternatively you can purchase a new fob key shell and transfer over your circuit board if your current one is still working.
Post a photo of your fob for us to assess

I know the people at the local euro shop here and he can program them and he will give me a break on the $$$. Its just finding the stupids fobs that I need to work out.
I can order some new circuit board buttons and solder them on and this one will work fine, but since my key wont open my door i feel like i need more of a backup than just this broken AF FOB. hahaha
**SHOULD I NOT BE SHOWING THAT CODE?? I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT IT MEANS**
Thanks!

Another caveat: the six-character code in the pic can only be used with the Nanocom. It will not work on other popular programmers such as the Hawkeye.
If you want to get a new key fob (electronics) , ask around here in this forum to see if someone in your local FL area with a Nanocom can help you.
