Default OBDII reader good deal

U480 OBDII CAN-BUS Check Engine Auto Scanner Trouble Code Reader - Newegg.com

Ordered that today for 15.99 shipped. Thought it was a good deal.

Also, for anyone in the Charlotte NC area, I have an ABS Amigo V1 USB.

I charge only a case of Coors Light for a reset.

Now if I can only figure out how to get the gas light to stay off....lol

That is cheap!

That said, one of the best toolsI've ever bought is a bluetooth obdii reader. I leave it plugged in all the time, and monitor everything thru my phone. Badass.

Default OBDII Trouble Code Reader Needed Please

Dear Sloan74,

I have a 2005 LR RR and am looking for a good OBDII Trouble Code Reader. In fact the one I was looking at was: Universal CAN Pro-Series OBDII Trouble Code Reader - $109.00

What do you think - is there a better one you recommend?

Thanks JP

I have the ELM 327 and an Android phone The Elm was about $22 It tells me more than i want to know. Since I have 3 vehicles I am getting one for each and entering profiles for each so anytime The Lovely Ms. Slabrat or I are driving, we fire up The Torque App ( 8 - 9 $ ) and set an alarms for for some variables Like Coolant Temp. It will alarm if temp get hi. I have mine set to 215 . I want to know quickly. I normally leave Torque running all the time it sleeps when not plugged into power so it won't run down battery while away from Rovers.

For that price range, I'd go with the OTC 9450:

Amazon.com: OTC 9450 OBDII Scan Tool, ABS and SRS Code Reader: Automotive Amazon.com: OTC 9450 OBDII Scan Tool, ABS and SRS Code Reader: Automotive
$97.73 & FREE Shipping

It is also capable of reading/resetting ABS and SRS codes.

Amazon does have one that reads ABS and clears the 3 Amigos. Works as advertised.

Autel 619. You have to do an online update for the Rover stuff, no charge for the update.
